If you're a householder interested in generating your own heat you can apply online for a grant on this site.

You can apply for up to £2,500 per property towards the cost of microgeneration technologiesDECC's Low Carbon Buildings Programme householder stream is due to be open until late 2010 for heat generating technologies (solar thermal hot water, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, wood fuelled heating) or as long as funds last. This funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis

In February 2010, the Government published a consultation document setting out its proposals for the design and operation of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), with the aim of providing financial support to encourage individuals, communities and businesses to switch from using fossil fuel to renewable sources for heating. Following consultation, the RHI scheme will be launched in April 2011
